Before you get your SIM

Get the right SIM card size

Before you get your du SIM card, make sure you ask for the right size that fits in the device you intend to use it with. For example, the Nano SIM is used in iPad Air, iPad mini, as well as iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, and iPhone 5s.

If you change your device along the way, and rather than taking a great deal of time and risk destroying your existing SIM card by cutting it by hand, we strongly recommend swapping your SIM card at any of our shops for a new SIM.

Activating your SIM card and add-on services

Activating a SIM card normally takes around one working day. If you’d bought a data bundle, make sure to wait until you receive an SMS confirming that your new bundle is now activated before you start using your mobile data to avoid out of bundle charges.

Recharging your Pay As You Go plan

You can recharge/top up your prepaid account using our WoW Recharge Card, which can be found at our shops, and at supermarkets and retailers around the UAE.

Topping up and recharge options

You can choose any of our four options to recharge as needed:

  • More Time
    ‘More Time’ is the normal recharge option, where the credit you get equals the face value of the recharge card denomination and is valid for life.

  • More International
    ‘More International’ balance can be used for international voice and video calls while in the UAE (and not while roaming).

    To recharge with this option, dial *138*[card number]#

  • More Data
    Recharge using the More Data recharge option from our WoW Recharge Cards to increase your data balance. Know how much data you get with every recharge on the More Data recharge optionpage.

  • More Credit
    ‘More Credit’ is for extra credit in addition to the face value of the recharge card. The extra credit can be used for any type of usage within the specified validity period.

The difference between the recharge options

Different recharge options optimizes the value you get our of your credit according to your own needs. Think of it as four slots in your wallet, each allotted for an activity you love. You get to choose how much to put each slot.

It's also helpful to know that some of our special offers require you to have a sufficient amount credited in one specific recharge option. We can always find this kind of information along the details of a special offer.
